Back to the drawing board

Hey gang,

There’s been a lot of crazy stuff going on in my personal life lately so I haven’t had a chance to update this site in a little while.  I just realized that I never officially posted the link to my newest release, Stereo Outs, so here ya go:

Stereo Outs

It’s a FREE download so go snag it now.  I hope you enjoy it!

In other news, I’ve decided to take the remainder of this year and part of early next year off from live performance so I can get back into the studio and focus on some long overdue experimenting and recording.  I’m also trying to reconfigure my live rig to make it more versatile and easier to manage.  The new solo set up might lend itself more to improvisation and abstract song writing but to counterbalance that I’m also going to be putting together a few groups to play some more composed material.  In other words, I’ve grown bored with the status quo and it’s time for me to doing some innovatin’!  Maybe I’ll get on the stage sometime in the spring but I’m planning on lurking in the shadows for the time being.

Don’t expect a shortage of Pilesar related music however.  I’ve been busy writing new songs, developing new collaborations, preparing tons of archival material for release and making a lot of headway on my next full length album.  Even if I’m not playing live I’ll still be plenty active, so don’t fret!

Well, I’m off to rake the yard and run some errands.  Have a great week:)

Until next time……

A landslide of music!

Howdy Pardners!

I haven’t updated this blog in a while but I’ve got a ton of news to make up for it.  First of all, Stereo Outs is finally starting to wrap up and I plan to release it in a few weeks on Halloween.  Best part is, you’ll be able to download it for FREE off of my Bandcamp site.  OOOoooooo!!! Scary!!!  Speaking of free, I’m also making progress on my Underscores project and I’ve got a whole slew of other archival material in the works so there will be no shortage of Pilesar music going into 2013 and beyond.  Lucky you!

In addition to all the Pilesar shenanigans, my improv group, Catoctin, has been pretty busy as well.  We just played a successful set at the Sonic Circuits Festival of Experimental Music this past September and we have plans to start recording an album in the upcoming months.  I’ll post some links to videos and tracks below to whet your appetite.  Hope you enjoy them!

Until next time…..

Just got back from Ireland…

…and I’m energized and ready to get back to work!  I’ve been honing my drum chops for the Catoctin set at Atlas Theater later this month and slowly hacking away at the Stereo Outs collection that I should be releasing by October or November.  Catoctin will be rehearsing and recording next week so I’ll be sure to post some new tunes once we get them mixed.  In the meantime, check out these two preview tracks from Stereo Outs:

See you soon!

New Vids, Stereo Space & Stereo Outs

Howdy, howdy, howdy!

Well, I didn’t win the Deli Magazine’s Artist of the Month Poll but I’d still like to thank all of you who voted.  It was a nice bit of publicity regardless so I appreciate the effort.  Now, on to the news!

First of all, I just posted some vids on my Youtube Channel documenting a couple of my most recent shows (including a few songs from my CD release party earlier this month).  You can watch the playlist here.  Please subscribe to my channel if you’d like to see more of this type of thing.

Next up, Stereo Space is now available for digital download on CD Baby and iTunes as well as a TON of other online retail outlets.  Pick yourself up a copy today and if you already have the album, please take a moment to rate it or leave a review.  Remember, all feedback is welcome!

Finally, I’m in the middle of working on a companion album for Stereo Space which will be entitled Stereo Outs.  It’s a quirkier, slightly more experimental collection of outtakes, remixes and original tracks that I’ll be releasing for free download sometime this Fall.  I’ll post more details as it all comes together so stay tuned!

We Love DC interview and Deli Magazine’s Artist of the Month Poll

Hey gang,

My pals over at the We Love DC blog posted a Pilesar interview today on their site.  Special thanks to Jonathan Druy for taking the time to chat with me about the new album, the CD release show, my live set up and more.  I sound a bit spastic but nevertheless, Jonathan was able to piece together a decent article.  Go give it a looksie!

In other news, I recently got nominated for The Deli‘s Baltimore/DC artist of the month poll.  The winner gets a front page write up and lots of free publicity.  Maybe even some studio time too!  Anyways, it sure would be nice to win so if you’re feeling charitable, please go to their site and vote for me!  The poll is near the top right hand part of the page and all you have to do is click on VOTE and there will be a pop up window. Next, click on the little circle next to my name and that’s it!  Tell your friends, family, loved ones, enemies, pets, coworkers and neighbors to help out if they can.  Just think: you could be going to bed tonight reveling in the fact that you helped keep my fragile little ego in check for another day or two.  The deadline is Sunday, July 15th.

Thanks!
